The Economic Case for Change

It is estimated that over half of the $450 billion dollars spent each year on oral diseases is spent on treating caries and the resultant diseases it can lead to.

In 2015, the American Dental Association highlighted the urgent need for new caries remineralizing treatments. In 2017, at ICNARA 3, the leading international Conference on caries, Reminova gave its maiden international conference presentation that went some way to give hope that their call would be answered in the near future.

It estimated that over half of the $450 billion dollars spent each year on oral diseases is spent on treating caries and the resultant diseases it can lead to.

More effort has been expended in recent years to calculate the benefit of preventative dental programs and they show a clear benefit from prevention. In 2013 published paper, it was calculated that every filling averted produced on average around $5000 of savings over the next five years to society.

In the UK each year there are currently about 8 million fillings performed each year, and its quite easy to see how, if it was in national use, our unique treatment could avert many of these fillings, and provide a long term economic benefit to society, as well as a health benefit.
